So our welcome to PEI was very heavy rain all day although to be honest it started in Nova Scotia but continued all day so we had to set up the RV in the pouring rain. Luckily we had rain jackets with us but it was very wet
Well all is not lost because we woke up the next morning and the sun was shining. We are staying in Cavendish which is approx. 35min from Charlottetown.
PEI is beautiful with rolling hills, red cliffs and tons of beaches (I'm Happy) Water is everywhere and so many of the homes have ocean views and even a lot of the farm land (mostly potatoes) have ocean views. The cliffs along the shoreline with the red rocks are so impressive.

We have been driving Kevin to show him PEI National Park in Cavendish which has several very beautiful beaches. The cliffs along the shoreline with the Red Rocks I cannot say enough about how incredible and impressive they are. . And of Course Me and Beaches (enough said)

Today we set off to explore Charlottetown and we were pleasantly surprised by the quaint seaside experience. There is a lot of history in Charlottetown which was founded in 1764 and became a city in 1855 plus PEI joined Canada in 1873. It is also known as the birth place of confederation. There are a lot of beautifully restored buildings and a great boardwalk along the waterfront with shops, restaurants and entrainment daily during the summer. Had a wonderful dinner on the waterfront and of course that included lobster.

Today we drove to the east side of PEI and visited the INN AT BAY FORTUNE which is a 5 star Inn owned by Chef Michael Smith and his wife Chastity. We were greeted by Chastity and shown through the Dining area and she explained how they grow their own organic Vegetables and source out other organic products for their meals. They cook over an open fire oven and they have it set up like a dining hall in 3 separate areas. It was a beautiful Inn and fits extremely well into the culture of PEI She also told us they are booked well in advance and have many people on waiting lists. Brian was upset that Michael was not there at the time but his wife was so gracious and generous with her time showing us the dining area and talking to us. The first pic is the front of the building and the 2nd pic is the of one of the wings of the building where the suites are located.
Aug 23, 2016 Today we left PEI and headed back to Moncton N.B. Took the Confederation Bridge to NB and WOW what a very Long and Awesome Bridge that is.
Kevin Flies home tomorrow early evening from Moncton and We have all really enjoyed our time in PEI and our time together.
ALSO NOTE: If you have never had PEI new potatoes they are the most delicious potatoes ever. Kevin & I are not big potatoes eaters but we cooked a big bunch and we ate them all. Also had fries in Charlottetown made from PEI potatoes and the best fries ever
These are wonderful photos. Too bad you didn't meet Michael Smith but to see their Inn is quite the feat. Nice that Kevin made it out to be with you. YOu two are enjoying the trip of a lifetime.
